壩bà（ㄅㄚˋ）

⒈ 築在河上或湖口狹處，用以擋水並提高水位的建築物。《集韻•去聲•禡韻》：“壩，堰也。”如：“水壩”、“大壩”。

⒉ 水利工程中用以鞏固堤防的建築物。如：“丁壩”。宋•單鍔《吳中水利書》：“其河自西壩至東壩十六里有餘。”

⒊ 地名用字。如中國四川省的雁門壩、陝西省的留壩。
